And here’s one more that Leon did for Shawn and I…So cute!

Shelley & Marcus
Shelley & Marcus are such a fun couple. I kept telling Shelley how beautiful she looked, and Marcus said, “Hey! What about me?” Haha! Yes, you too, Marcus! They BOTH looked wonderful, the location was wonderful, the cake was wonderful and the caricaturist they had was super duper wonderful – one of my favorite things to have at weddings.
Venue: The Grandover Resort
Cakes: Not a Crumb! Exquisite Cakes
Caricaturist: Leon the Artist

Cindia & Zach
They say that rain is good luck on wedding days. If that’s true, (and I think it probably is) then Cindia & Zach are definitely in it for the long haul! It started to pour down right before the ceremony began but we all had a lot of fun regardless of the weather. The result: perfectly cute photos (if I don’t say so myself) to match a perfectly cute couple. Enjoy!
Venue: Our Lady of Mercy

Gone Fishing
Actually, I haven’t BUT I am going to do my first summery thing and go to the beach! So in the long absence of posts that will come, I would like to leave you all with this: fun summery photos from my last trip to the Philippines.

Sugar High Gang
These two are probably two of the most talented people that I know and I was really nervous about the shoot but we had a blast. Shanthony Exum & Mike Shepherd of Sugar High Gang have been bringing the awesome pretty much since they’ve been born, which in the case of Mike, happens to be some years ago exactly today. Happy Birthday, Mike! If you haven’t checked out their latest video that was launched this weekend, do it! But first, enjoy the pics!

Lisa & Heath
If I were to have a muse, then it would definitely have to be Lisa. This shoot was my third with Lisa and by far the best because it was her wedding day! She and Heath couldn’t have picked a more rockin’ weekend to have been hitched – it was the same weekend as the Heavy Rebel Weekender aka rockabilly fest. We had so much fun walking around the old cars taking photos! The whole day was truly amazing. You heard me gushing about Winston-Salem in my last post, but look at the photos, and realize why I love my hometown and the characters that reside there. Congratulations Lisa and Heath!!!!

Jami & Jeff
This was a special shoot for me because I have known Jami (a fantastic massage therapist, I might add) for years and had listened to Jeff’s band Codeseven for just as many (since I was at least 15, and I’m pushing 30). I remember randomly coming across their CD at Other Music in NYC, and feeling so proud. NC’ers love when other NC’ers go big time – especially Winstoners! Flash forward to the present day and we reconnected at one of my favorite pastimes: yard sales – at their yard sale no less!
The day we shot the engagement portrait also happened to be their dating anniversary and also the 4th of July, so we were all stoked about trying to find some fireworks for some photos. I don’t know if it was the anticipation of seeing the fireworks, or the fact that it was their anniversary, or what, but these two were so sweet and passionate towards each other! And it made for some amazing photo ops!

Shelley, Marcus, and the Little One!
Isn’t Shelley an unbelievably beautiful mother-to-be?!? She had the most pretty glowing skin and they both had nothing but smiles the whole session. She’s an NYC native and Marcus is an NC native – something so close to my heart! Can’t wait to photograph the wedding later this summer where I’m sure she’ll be even MORE beautiful. Enjoy these photos of this gorgeous duo and zee babeh!

Amy & Reid
Once again, I’ve been blessed in being able to photograph some of the coolest and nicest couples. Amy and Reid certainly fell into this category as well. Although not exactly cool in the temperature sense – none of us were – it was a sweltering 95 degrees here and even though we’re not in the deep south, the air was still thicker than buttermilk. Why do I feel like I’ve taken a weird (and bad) noir-ish spin with that last sentence…? Except I suppose, then it would be a cold and rainy day in November with a mystery in the air…but I digress.
Okay okay…what I’m trying to say is that Amy and Reid had a fantastic attitude even though the temperatures were out of control uncomfortable. They are ridiculously cute and I cannot wait to photograph their rehearsal dinner and wedding in September!
